Featured Dishes:
Smoked Tea Duck: LA Mo Sichuan Zhangcha Duck’s signature dish, the Smoked Tea Duck, is a feast for the eyes and the palate with its alluring color and aroma.
The duck, specially selected from Yilan, is smoked with camphorwood tea leaves, infusing it with a unique flavor.
Each piece is sliced tableside by the chef, ensuring it retains its warmth and crispiness.
To prevent the duck from cooling and losing its deliciousness, a warming lamp and heated plate keep it at the perfect temperature.
Once the duck is carved, the chef places the slices into a serving tray, then ignites tea leaves, creating a cloud of fragrant smoke that envelops the dish—one of the secret elements that add a touch of theatrical flair to this culinary masterpiece.
After being smoked with camphorwood tea, the blend of tea fragrance, smokiness, and duck aroma creates a symphony of flavors. The heated tray ensures that even if you savor it slowly, the duck remains delicious.
The duck pancakes are individually separated by thin films, so you don’t have to worry about them sticking together or tearing. The succulent duck slices combined with the soft, chewy pancakes, cucumber, scallions, and the essential sweet bean sauce create a perfect blend of juicy tenderness and crisp textures.
Shark Fin Duck Porridge
A delightful twist on traditional porridge, this dish combines rich crab roe and premium ingredients like shark fin, crab meat, and clams, creating a luxurious and savory experience.
Duck Wing, Duck Tongue, Duck Web Platter
The duck wing, duck tongue, and duck web platter showcases three distinct parts of the duck, each meticulously prepared to highlight its unique flavor and texture.
The duck wings are braised in a special sauce and topped with truffle paste, resulting in a rich and aromatic experience. The duck tongues are perfectly tender with a chewy texture, and each bite separates easily from the bone, thanks to the flavorful braising process.
The duck webs, packed with collagen, offer a delightful gelatinous texture with a balanced sweet and savory taste that enhances their natural richness.
This blend of collagen also provides some beauty benefits. Among these three, my personal favorite is the duck webs for their extraordinary texture and taste.
Seaweed Duck Meatballs
These duck meatballs are a delightful surprise in the set menu. Despite their small size, they pack a big punch of flavor! The exterior is perfectly crispy, while the inside is filled with tender, savory duck meat. The seaweed and fish roe garnish add an extra layer of texture and taste.
The filling, a special blend crafted by the chef, combines finely minced duck meat with a carefully balanced seasoning, resulting in a rich and flavorful bite that’s both savory and satisfying.
Crispy Duck Soup Dumplings
These dumplings are a special treat exclusively available in the anniversary set and cannot be bought separately—they are only given as a complimentary dish!
Lovingly handcrafted by the chef, these special dumplings come wrapped in a striking black bamboo charcoal skin. Inside, you’ll find a delicious filling of mochi and duck broth, making each bite a rich and satisfying experience. It’s like enjoying a fusion of flavors, reminiscent of a creative twist on a classic mooncake.
Dining Experience at Yongkang Branch
We visited on a weekday evening to celebrate my father’s birthday. Limited parking is available, so I recommend reserving an earlier time slot for convenience. The private dining setup is ideal for family gatherings.
The diverse menu ensures a new culinary adventure with each visit. Our choice of the 5th-anniversary set menu was both plentiful and satisfying, especially the Smoked Tea Duck with its crispy skin and tender meat. This dining experience undoubtedly ranks as one of the best for family gatherings and is definitely a staple on our future dining list.
